Muzzle Velocity

Every bench in Central Park has a story, all beginning with a dedication, this one's:

"Donald & Melania

May you grow together as these two oaks, room enough

to not stifle the other, yet close enough to shelter

The other from the wind.

~Mark & Roma"

This bench is nearly impossible to find. I'm assisted in my thinking and gathering today by NY Times writer, Ezra Klein and his most recent opinion piece entitled, "Don't Believe Him."

Klein highlights a repeat tactic being employed now by The Trump Administration as it was at the beginning of his inaugural term:

'Muzzle Velocity' a term coined by Steve Bannon in 2019 :

"All we have to do is flood the zone. Every day we hit them with three things, they'll bite on one and we'll get all of our stuff done. Pang! Bang! Bang! These guys will never be able to recover but we gotta start with Muzzle Velocity."

Crowding out the truth with information, or rather, inundating us with so much information, that we don't know what's true. Issuing an Executive Order is not law making. An order is not a bill just as a president is not a King, for a reason (one we launched a revolution and incepted a country over).

It seems the Trump Administration believes that to achieve something, he and others must believe FIRST that it is true, rather than beginning and ending with the truth.

The TRUTH is...

"The President cannot rewrite the constitution. Within days, his Birthright Citizens Order was frozen by a judge, by a Reagan appointee. A judge froze Trump's spending freeze. He froze it even before it went into full effect and shortly thereafter the Trump Administration rescinded the entire order, in part to avoid a court case."

This country has no throne to sit on. This country is not a bench, in fact, The TRUTH IS, it's a rock. One older than any of us or "our country" will ever be.
